José Luis Morales spoke in the press area today after the match between Levante UD and RCD Espanyol at the Ciutat de València. The Levante goal scorer declared the following: “We are all united. We have to get through this together, those of us on the pitch as well as those of us on the bench and those in the grandstand. We still have 11 matches ahead of us. Today is a hard day for us all, we are leaving here with feelings of anger and impotence. Tomorrow is another day, we will think about what we did wrong today and try and improve for Saturday in Getafe,” said the player.
With regard to the last two matches, Morales highlighted that “up until the referee blows the final whistle, we have to maintain the same intensity, it’s very hard to win matches as we have seen in the last two. We have to try not to make it easy for our opponents. We are in a League where mistakes are penalised and today the only mistake we made was right at the end of the game and it cost us two points.”
As for the match, Morales highlight Levante UD’s good points. “I can’t recall Oier having to make a save in the first half. We had some chances with Pazzini. I think it was very evenly matched where both teams tried to do the same thing, playing on the wing and crossing to the box, because both teams had players who are good at taking shots from this area. In the end, thanks to our efforts and support from the fans, we came very close to a win, so the draw ended up leaving a bitter taste.
