Levante UD Women Strikes Again with Iron Fist in Sevilla in Champions Fight (1-3).

Levante UD achieved against Sevilla FC (1-3) a victory as brilliant as powerful and timely in this final stretch of Liga F, where they continue to assert their dominance in pursuit of their dream. And that is none other than to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the second consecutive season. Timely, to put an end to the bad streak of results and also against a Sevillan team that was pushing its chances of breaking into the top three spots in the standings. The Granotas are back in full force.

Sanchez Vera's team once again demonstrated what they are made of. The Azulgranas arrived in the Sevillian capital with maximum impact due to absences and with doubts arising from recent results. Soon, these doubts were dispelled. Except for an almost perfect chance for Martín Prieto, who missed from one meter in front of the goal against Antonia Silva, who cleared his shot practically on the goal line, the Levante players were far superior at Jesús Navas. As a result, just past the 20th minute, a set piece of the highest quality put the visitors ahead: Paula Fernández precisely placed the ball to the far post, Silvia Lloris altered its trajectory with a subtle header, and María Méndez, entering the goal like an aircraft carrier, pushed it into the net.

After the 0-1, there was a back and forth of chances involving Inma Gabarro and Martín Prieto for the hosts, and Andonova and Silvia Lloris (including a shot hitting the post) for the visitors. None of them managed to find the net with clear-cut goal-scoring opportunities. But the determination of the North Macedonian prevailed. On the brink of halftime, Érika pulled off a magnificent move, dancing along the touchline and evading opponents, to deliver a perfect pass to the number 9 and establish the 0-2.

After the break, Levante UD capitalized on their advantage, avoiding any doubts and with a quality move down the right flank, María Méndez precisely delivered the ball to the heart of the box for Andonova to head it into the back of the net again. It was 0-3, practically sealing the victory, but the resilient locals created some uncertainty with Diana Gomes' goal, another great header. Before that, Gabi Nunes could have sealed the deal, but her shot hit the post and, in the final stretch, Sullastres pulled off a superb save against a shot from Daniela. There were no further movements, only the three points flying to Valencia with the final score of 1-3.
