Levante UD Celebrates World Down Syndrome Day with a Heartwarming Joint Training Session

Levante UD and its Foundation have once again joined forces to create an unprecedented visibility initiative in professional football nationwide. For the first time, players from Levante UD and a selection of players with Down syndrome from Levante UD EDI (School for People with Intellectual Disabilities) experienced an unforgettable morning as the members of all three teams gathered at the Ciudad Deportiva facilities to hold a touching joint training session in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, observed today.

Laughter, joy, and fun permeated this event, leaving a lasting impression on all participants. Players from Levante UD EDI had the opportunity to fulfill their dream of playing alongside their idols from the men's and women's first teams in a triangular match where solidarity, companionship, respect, and inclusion were among the true winners on a day where the outcome mattered least.

The event strengthened the bonds of the Levante family, comprising the club's teams and the Cent Anys Foundation, and proved to be an enriching experience for all involved. Players expressed their gratitude for the chance to share such emotional moments and emphasized the importance of organizing and participating in activities of this nature to promote and raise awareness about inclusion in sports and society.

The day concluded with exchanges of hugs and smiles, accompanied by photo sessions to immortalize the moments of happiness experienced during this very special morning.

About the Foundation

It's worth noting that the Levante UD Foundation is a pioneer in all its adapted sports projects for individuals with various disabilities. Since 2011, it has led this field nationally, currently boasting 253 athletes with over 20 different disabilities (physical, intellectual, and even rare diseases) across four different sports sections.

Furthermore, it's important to highlight the Levante UD Foundation's ongoing commitment to leading the inclusion of people with disabilities through sports in Spain, hosting the largest sports school for individuals with disabilities in the country within its sports structure.
