The Levante goalkeeper is a U-19 European champion and U-20 world champion with the Spanish National Team.
Anna Álvarez experienced a very special night at the Ciutat de València, where she received the affection and recognition of Levante UD and all the Levante fans after being crowned U-19 European champion and U-20 World champion with the Spanish National Team.
Everything pointed to it being a special night for Anna Álvarez. Before the match between Levante UD and Athletic Club, the club's president, Pablo Sánchez, welcomed the goalkeeper to the Ciutat de València's VIP box, where they shared impressions and anecdotes about the experiences recently lived by the goalkeeper with the Spanish National Team. Additionally, Anna was able to show him the medals she won this summer, a reflection of the success achieved in a year that is now part of her history.
The Levante academy player has had extraordinary months by being crowned U-19 European champion and U-20 World champion. Two achievements that highlight the talent, hard work, and passion of a footballer who continues to grow and has brought the name of Levante UD to the highest level. "It has been a very beautiful and complete year that I have enjoyed to the fullest. You can't ask for more from football and these kinds of tournaments that every young footballer dreams of playing one day and, even more, winning. I feel super lucky and super proud to have experienced this year," Anna said, reflecting on the past months that will remain forever in her memory.
The recognition reached its most special moment before the match, when Pablo Sánchez and honorary president Francisco Fenollosa presented the goalkeeper with a socarrat, a handcrafted piece symbolizing the club's affection and pride for those who have recently conquered the world with the Spanish National Team. Following this, Anna had the honor of performing the ceremonial kickoff, receiving a warm ovation from a Ciutat de València proud to celebrate the achievements of a homegrown footballer. A tribute that transcended team colors and also included recognition from her fellow professionals: both Levante UD and Athletic Club players applauded her and approached to personally congratulate her. Among them was Unai Simón, goalkeeper of the Spanish National Team and World Champion, who joined in the expressions of affection for our goalkeeper.
"I was very nervous at first. In a stadium like this, which is my home, with so many people watching me, applauding me, and recognizing me, as well as all the players," Anna confessed as she described how she experienced the tribute. The goalkeeper expressed her deep gratitude for the gesture from the Levante club, where she has spent more than eight seasons: "I am super happy that Levante UD was able to give me this recognition. Very happy, very pleased also with that small detail of the handcrafted piece, which I find super beautiful."
