Asisa Medical Report
There are no reactions yet. Be the first!
Just before the players were due to get on the bus yesterday, heading for Vallecas Stadium, for matchday 37 of LaLiga 1|2|3 against Rayo Vallecano, several of them began to show symptoms of gastroenteritis (diarrhoea and sickness). Despite medical treatment and the players' strong intentions and desires to take part in the match, Iván and Saveljich were unable to start the match and Róber Pier had to come off in the seventh minute. Fast acting medical staff minimalised the severity of the outbreak and three other players with similar symptoms were able to be on the pitch and managed to accomplish their mission to a certain extent. The players have now recovered virtually 100% and none of them have needed hospital treatment.

The cause of this outbreak among the players as well as a member of the technical staff is being investigated. Both the medical team and the hotel continue to follow the protocol of ruling out possible causes.

Most importantly, the players have responded well to the medical treatment given and there are no players unavailable for the training session on Tuesday for this reason.
