Atlético Levante UD lost by the minimum margin against CF La Nucía in the first leg of the second round of the promotion playoffs. Álvaro del Moral's team played for more than an hour with one player less, but they competed with determination and delivered a good performance that ended without reward, yet leaves them very much alive to face the second leg next weekend.

The match began evenly with opportunities for both teams. The home side were the first to create danger. Barely two minutes had passed when Ferran Zarzoso sent in a cross from the right wing that Gorxa headed in front of the goal. Asier caught the ball without difficulty. Levante's response came five minutes later with a corner taken by Dani Cervera, which the goalkeeper punched away. 

Both teams were searching for a goal, and La Nucía tried again with two chances from Gorxa, which Asier managed to thwart with good saves. The game took a turn in the 24th minute when Nakoha received a second yellow card, leaving Atlético Levante UD with ten players. The Granota team had to work hard to make up for their numerical disadvantage. And they did. Minutes later, Luismi Pérez came close to putting his team ahead with a good individual effort, but the home goalkeeper denied the goal in a one-on-one situation.

After the restart, the home team stepped up and increased their offensive presence. The Levante players were forced to double their defensive efforts, as physical fatigue began to take its toll, leading to several substitutions due to muscle discomfort. CF La Nucía continued to push for a goal and found their reward in the 75th minute through Gorxa, who almost extended the lead with a header just before the end of regulation time, but Asier Herrera made a great save.

Time ran out, and Atlético Levante UD will face the second leg trailing on the scoreboard but still alive in the fight to reach the third and final round of the promotion playoffs.
