Levante UD is defeated by Real Madrid
Levante UD 1-4 Real Madrid
Levante UD was defeated at the Ciutat de València Stadium against Real Madrid. The Levante players had the chance to take the lead in the opening minutes and, despite being down 2-0, they did not give up, managed to narrow the gap, and had opportunities to equalize the score. However, the Madrid players scored the third and fourth goals within a few minutes, sealing the match.
The granota team started the match in the best possible way. They aimed to cause trouble early on, and three minutes in, they tried their luck with a cross from Vencedor. Iván Romero's header went just wide. Shortly after, Real Madrid responded with a cross-shot from Mastantuono that went off target. The Levante players kept trying, this time from a set piece. It was a corner kick taken by Vencedor that Dela headed. The ball went very close to the left post of the visitors' goal.
From the 20th minute onward, the Madrid players tested Ryan. First, they did so with a shot from Vini Jr. from outside the box, which the goalkeeper deflected. Mastantuono could have taken advantage of the rebound, but the ball hit the crossbar. Moments later, the granota goalkeeper intervened again to clear a dangerous shot from Fede Valverde. Near the half-hour mark, Real Madrid scored their first goal with a powerful outside-foot shot from Vini Jr. that sent the ball to the far post. Mastantuono was responsible for scoring the second with a shot from inside the box. Just minutes before the end of the first half, Ryan was once again in the spotlight, stopping a shot from Vini Jr.
After the break, Levante UD came out confident and eager to find a reward for their efforts. This came after a cross from Iván Romero that Etta Eyong headed into the back of the net. The Levante players almost equalized shortly after with a free kick taken by Oriol Rey that was headed by Carlos Álvarez, but the goalkeeper made the save. As Julián Calero's team searched for a second goal, Real Madrid scored their third. They achieved it after Mbappé converted a penalty into a goal. Just two minutes later, the visitors sealed the match with another goal from the "10". In injury time, the Madrid players tested Ryan again with a shot from Vini Jr., which the goalkeeper saved.
The score remained unchanged, and despite Levante UD's efforts with the support of their fans, they were unable to secure any points.
