Levante UD was defeated by Villarreal CF in a match where the Levante players had to fight against the tide but never stopped believing in their chances. The blue and garnet team managed to equalize the score before halftime and kept fighting for a positive result until the final minutes, when the home team extended their lead. Iván Romero, with a spectacular bicycle kick, was the scorer of the goal for Levante.

The home team started with intensity from the first moments and took control of the ball. Villarreal CF quickly sought the Levante goal and created danger with a run by I. Akhomach into the area, which Ayoze finished. Toljan appeared providentially to clear the ball practically off the goal line. Shortly after, Buchanan threatened again with a cross from the left towards the far post, but Manu Sánchez was alert to send the ball to a corner. Levante UD gradually overcame the initial pressure and began to approach the opponent's area. Olasagasti delivered a dangerous ball from a lateral free kick that the goalkeeper punched away. Five minutes later, the midfielder was involved in another offensive action, finding Thiago inside the area. The Argentine received the ball on the flank, cut inside, and aimed a shot that went just wide.

The Levante players tried to increase their share of possession to control the pace of the game, while Villarreal CF waited for opportunities to quickly attack the Levante area after recovering the ball.

Ayoze tried again with a shot that Roger Brugué managed to block. However, two minutes later, the home attacker found the back of the net and put Villarreal CF ahead on the scoreboard. Levante UD quickly responded. With just five minutes left before halftime, the blue and garnet team found their reward. Toljan connected with Iván Romero, and the forward executed a spectacular bicycle kick to send the ball into the back of the net, leveling the score before the break.

After the restart, Villarreal CF took the lead again. Following a backheel pass from I. Akhomach, Moleiro capitalized on the play to make it 2-1. Levante UD responded by once again seeking the home team's goal. Thiago delivered a cross from the left that Roger Brugué tried to head at the far post, but he couldn't make contact.

The Levante players were not content and continued to search for the equalizer. A play by Toljan came close to making it 2-2, but Renato Veiga appeared to deflect the ball's trajectory. The blue and garnet team kept believing and fighting for their chances until the final moments. When Levante UD still had hopes of achieving a positive result, Mikautadze scored Villarreal CF's third goal, increasing the lead on the scoreboard.

Despite the adverse result, Luís Castro's team never stopped competing and showed resilience in a match where they had to recover several times and fought until the end to stay in contention.
