Levante UD achieved an important victory at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium against another newly promoted team, Real Oviedo. Carlos Álvarez and Etta Eyong were the goal scorers in a match where the granota team grew stronger as the minutes passed.

The home team, from the early stages of the match, applied pressure on their opponent and sought the opposing goal. They did so with a cross from A. Rahim from the left that ended in a corner, another dangerous cross from Hassan that Ryan cleared, and a header from Rondón that went over the bar. The granota response came with a good combination between Roger Brugué, Etta Eyong, and Iván Romero that the opposing defense eventually disrupted.

The game was played at a high pace, but as the minutes went by, the dangerous chances began to fade. As the match progressed, the granota team started to have more possession, which helped them get closer to the opposing goal. They tried with a cross from Manu Sánchez that ended in a corner when Iván Romero was already prepared to finish and a good combination play inside the area between Carlos Álvarez and Roger Brugué that Aarón managed to catch.

The Levante players managed to break through the opposing goal near the first half-hour mark through Carlos Álvarez, after an assist from Manu Sánchez. Minutes later, Julián Calero's team wanted more and tried their luck with a cross from Vencedor looking for Iván Romero at the far post and a shot from the forward, after a cross from Manu Sánchez, that hit the defense.

After the restart, Real Oviedo came out with the same intensity as in the first half and with the intention of controlling the ball. Despite this, Levante UD did not give up on attacking and sought a second goal with a shot from Etta Eyong that was blocked. Arriaga tried to capitalize on the rebound with a powerful shot, but it was cleared and fell to Manu Sánchez, who also attempted unsuccessfully. The home team had the first clear chance of the second half in the 64th minute with a header that Ryan saved. Shortly after, they came close to equalizing with a shot from Ilyas that hit the post.

However, it was Levante UD who struck again from a corner taken by Carlos Álvarez. Oriol Rey received the ball and didn’t hesitate. He aimed for the goal but the ball hit the post, and on the rebound, Etta Eyong was alert to push it into the back of the net, extending the lead.

With this victory, the granota team continues to increase their points tally and heads into the international break with the reinforcement of the work they have done.
