Goalkeeper Emma Holmgren, new Levante UD footballer

Levante UD have reached agreement with goalkeeper Emma Holmgren (Uppsala, Sweden, 13-05-1997) for her to become a new player in the Women's First Team for the next two seasons. The goalkeeper, who arrives from Olympique de Lyon, is the fifth signing for the team led by José Luis Sánchez Vera, following the acquisition of Anna Torrodá, Gabi Nunes, Ángela Sosa and Daniela Arques.

Holmgren has played for Lyon during the last two seasons, with whom she managed to win two league titles, a French Cup, and a UEFA Women's Champions League in 2022, at the very time when she faced Levante UD in the second qualifying round. In her home country, the Swede played for Gamla Uppsala, Vaksala, Sirius, Hammarby IF, Linköpings FC, Uppsala and Ekilstuna United, from where she made the jump to the French league.

The new granota footballer has been an international with all categories of the Swedish team, with which she was proclaimed champion of Europe under-19s in 2015 by beating Spain 1-3, when she faced among others, Alba Redondo and Leire Baños.

On behalf of Levante UD we welcome Emma to her new club and we wish her luck in this new stage of her career, wearing the blue and red colours.
