Levante UD made the traditional floral offering to the Virgin of the Forsaken at the Cathedral this afternoon, prior to the start of the league competition that will kick off for the Levante team this Saturday in Cádiz.

Representatives of the Board of Directors, headed by President Quico Catalán, players, technicians and staff comprised the congregation in this classic act of the summer period. They were all received by the vice-rector, Álvaro Almenar, who appealed to the Virgin of the Forsaken for her "protection to accompany the team in this new season, that it may be a year of triumphs and victories, and that the Levante family may continue to flourish".

The President of Levante UD, Quico Catalán, emphasised that the team's visit to the Mother of God was “to give thanks and to ask for her protection and safeguarding. We have lived through a very complicated year, a year in which many of our Levante family have gone to heaven due to the pandemic, and we remember each and every one of them. We wish to devote to Our Lady our work and our mission, which is to represent Valencia through football and we pray for her help that we may continue working, from our position, and be able to develop this project. We also beseech her on behalf of our fans, to remember them also at this time ”.

The event concluded with the usual family photo at the feet of the Virgin of the Forsaken.
