The club attends the training by LALIGA, the National Police, and the Ministry of Equality to activate the Purple Point at the Ciutat de València.
Levante UD sets up a Purple Point and takes a new step in its firm commitment to ensuring safe, inclusive, and discrimination- or violence-free environments in its facilities.
The Head of Human Resources, Rocío Martínez, and the Club's Protection Delegate, Jobanna Calpe, attended the training session organized by LALIGA, which was actively participated in by the National Police —with the presence of the Family and Women's Care Unit (UFAM)—, Mossos d'Esquadra, Ertzaintza, and the Director General for Equal Treatment and Non-Discrimination and Against Racism of the Ministry of Equality, Beatriz Carrillo.
During this technical meeting, Levante UD's representatives received operational and interpretative guidelines on the LALIGA Framework Protocol-Guide, designed to prevent and address situations of harassment, sexual violence, or sexist behavior during football matches.
As part of the implementation of this protocol at the Ciutat de València Stadium, the club will activate in the coming weeks a comprehensive training and action plan that includes:
-
Mandatory training for Matchday staff: All personnel providing service on match days will take a specific online course for identifying and managing incidents.
-
Involvement of external staff: All collaborating companies and external personnel will be directly informed about the existence and operation of the Purple Point at the stadium.
-
Operational simulation on match day: The club will conduct a practical simulation to verify smooth coordination between the Club's Security Management, the Protection Delegate, the UCO (Organizational Control Unit), private security personnel, medical services, and State Security Forces and Bodies.
The role of the Protection Delegate
Within the framework of the Ciutat de València's Self-Protection Plan, Levante UD has Jobanna Calpe as Protection Delegate, a role formally designated by the entity to coordinate, implement, and evaluate all measures of the protocol against discrimination and gender violence. Integrated into the security structure, her work operates under the principles of due diligence, victim-centered perspective, confidentiality, and non-revictimization, ensuring an immediate and comprehensive response to any eventuality.
With these measures, Levante UD reaffirms its commitment to being at the forefront of Spanish football to ensure that the fan experience at the stadium is always an example of respect, safety, and values.
Zero tolerance and comprehensive prevention in sporting events
Within the framework of this session, the entity has reaffirmed its policy of zero tolerance towards any behavior of gender violence, discrimination, or harassment, promoting the operational development of its Prevention and Intervention Plan. This internal protocol, developed in coordination with the Security Forces and Bodies, establishes specific measures for risk assessment, structural prevention, and early response adapted to the complexity of each match. Based on principles such as due diligence, victim-centered perspective, and confidentiality, the plan aims to ensure not only coordinated and transparent management of any incident but also to transform the club's facilities into a truly safe environment that respects the fundamental rights of all individuals.
