José Morales and Jefferson Lerma will continue to play for Levante U.D. for the next few seasons following agreements reached with the Club. The Captain and Colombian midfielder have extended their respective contracts with Levante U.D. Morales will stay at the Orriols club until June 2021, whilst the commitment between Jefferson Lerma and Levante is until June 2022.

Levante is ensuring the continuity of two footballers of great importance in the the project led by coach Paco López. In fact, Morales has played in 35 matches during the current season, including both LaLiga Santander and King’s Cup matches. Meanwhile, Lerma has participated in 25 league matches and 2 King’s Cup games. The midfielder has combined his presence at Levante with his participation in matches playing for the Colombian National Team.

Morales came to Orriols in the summer of 2011 when he signed for the B team. After two excellent seasons in the team coached by José Gómez he renewed his contract with Levante. In the 2013-2014 season he was able to play in the first team but he accepted the challenge of playing on loan for Eibar. There he achieved a historical promotion to the top division. During the second half of the 2014-2015 season he made his debut for the first team at San Mamés Stadium. Morales had arrived and was here to stay. Today he is one of the most important players in the team. He is the highest goal scorer in Levante’s history in First Division, with a total of 19 goals and he will play his 150th match for the team against F.C. Barcelona. In June 2017 he extended his contract with Levante once again.

Lerma joined Levante at the end of August 2015, from Atlético Huila. His development as a footballer is undeniable since he joined the club. Proof of this is his participation in the Colombian National Team in the preparatory matches for the World Cup which starts next month in Russia. Lerma has played in a total of 92 matches for Levante so far.
