Following information that has appeared in the media regarding a possible complaint by the Costa Rican Football Federation, Levante UD wishes to make the following statement:

On receiving the call-up for Óscar Duarte from his national side, the Club's medical team transmitted a medical report to the Federation that detailed the discomfort that the player was suffering both in his heels and in his lumbar region, the latter being aggravated by a blow he received during the game against Valencia CF. This report included details of the treatment that the player was receiving, the medical tests to which he had been subjected, and the recommendation that a series of competition matches could generate a possible aggravation of the injury.

Once this information was made available, at no time did Levante UD refuse to allow the player to be called up to play for his national team, this being a decision made by the Costa Rican Federation.
