The club is already considering the new date with LALIGA, guarantees that the suspension will not affect the loyalty of season ticket holders, and activates ticket refunds.
Levante UD thanks the fans for their behavior following the suspension of the match against Athletic Club due to the storm and requests LALIGA to review protocols and schedules in cases of weather alerts. The club guarantees that the match will not penalize the loyalty of any season ticket holder, enables the ticket refund process, and is already evaluating a new date.
Levante UD wishes to sincerely thank all its fans for their exemplary behavior, civility, and composure demonstrated last night. In a highly complex context, where we were preparing to play a football match anticipating rain but torrential storm, the attitude of our audience was impeccable.
Letter to Javier Tebas
Given the seriousness of the events, the CEO of Levante UD, José Danvila, is preparing a letter to the president of LALIGA, Javier Tebas. In it, the club demands a deep reflection on the suitability of the scheduled times and the current protocols on days with weather alerts issued by official agencies. Additionally, a review of the match suspension criteria has been requested, as our fans were not informed of the match cancellation until the scheduled start time. These situations should help us learn and improve.
Fortunately, as indicated in the initial assessments, all club staff acted with absolute efficiency. Security services kept attendees sheltered in covered areas under the stands until the intensity of the rain allowed for an orderly and safe evacuation. The club expresses its gratitude to both the fans and employees for their willingness and collaboration at all times.
Attendance and ticket management
The club confirms that it is working with LALIGA to set a new date. Regarding this match and the impact of the suspension, Levante UD announces the following measures:
- Although the official recorded figure was over 9,000 spectators, the intensity of the storm prompted the opening of turnstiles to allow people to quickly access covered areas. The club is aware that the actual figure was higher.
- This suspended match will not penalize any season ticket holder in the final attendance and loyalty count, whether they attended the stadium or not. For management purposes, it will count exactly as if the season ticket holder had released their seat. Similarly, for the new match date, any season ticket holder unable to attend will be able to release their seat without any penalty.
- Ticket refunds:
- Online purchase: The refund will be processed automatically using the same payment method, with the amount credited within 2 to 10 business days starting today. No email or action is required. The refund will be processed automatically.
- Box office purchase: Buyers must visit in person with their tickets or send an email to ticketing@levanteud.es. In this message, they must attach the ticket, the card payment receipt (or indicate the last four digits of the card used), or specify if the purchase was made in cash, in which case they will be informed of the refund procedure.
Levante UD wishes to extend a very special thanks to Athletic Club and all its fans who traveled from Bilbao for their impeccable behavior and understanding of the situation experienced in Orriols.
Last night, in a highly adverse scenario, we once again demonstrated the strength of unity. By helping each other and behaving like the great family we are, we showcased the values that define us as a club. We deeply appreciate the numerous expressions of support and affection received over the past hours.
