Pablo Martínez has addressed the media in a press conference a few days before the derby against Valencia CF.

The Levante captain has admitted that Sunday’s match is one of the “most important of the year” and considers that “every match is a final because we know what we are playing for.” Furthermore, the midfielder is optimistic about the team’s progress: “The work ethic has been good, we have a lot of confidence and the added bonus of playing at home, with our fans, who are surely very eager.”

For Pablo Martínez, Sunday will be the first derby he plays as a home player and he will do so as the team captain. For this reason, he is “excited and eager for it to arrive, to wear the armband and, hopefully, be able to gift a victory to the fans.”

The player knows that a derby is always a special match with many variables that can influence the game. “There are many emotions that need to be controlled. You can’t let yourself get carried away at any moment. A derby will also demand things from you off the pitch. Everyone has to give their best for their teammates, the team has been following a very solid work ethic and that is what will lead us to keep the team strong for the full 90 minutes and fully focused to lead Levante UD to victory.”
