Julián Calero appeared this afternoon before the media in the press conference prior to the match that Levante UD will play against RC Celta on Sunday at the Ciutat de València Stadium.

Although both teams have practically accumulated the same points in this first stage of the competition, the coach wanted to make it clear that “I don't think we are direct rivals.” “Celta is a team that is playing in Europe, they have built their squad with the aim of performing well in the competition and, therefore, beyond the fact that in these first ten rounds we are tied on points, it is a team that, presumably, is aiming for other goals,” he explained.

Levante UD will return home on Sunday, where they have yet to secure a victory. For this reason, the coach acknowledged that “we are very excited to start giving our fans a bit of joy.”

After playing the first ten matches of LALIGA EA SPORTS, Julián Calero assessed this initial phase. “The assessment I make is one of adaptation. We have gone through that dizzying phase that any player who had not played in the First Division might experience. There are many players in the squad who had not debuted. That phase is now behind us, they are confident in what they are doing, they see that they can compete against anyone, we have been able to win matches, compete well with all teams, and now the overall assessment is positive in terms of feelings,” he stated. However, the Levante coach added a caveat to this evaluation, as “it is not very positive in terms of the points we have; we would like to have more, but we also have to be reasonable with our situation.” Nevertheless, he trusts the work being done and the enthusiasm, involvement, and commitment of his players. “I am happy with how things are going. We have to keep pushing and improve many things, we know that, but we are on the right path, and the players have the right attitude for this improvement to also be reflected in the results.”
