PRESS CONFERENCE | Luís Castro: "It is important that the team is capable of keeping the ball and defending together"
The coach has appeared in the preview of the match against FC Barcelona.
Luís Castro has appeared before the media in the press conference prior to the match that Levante UD will play tomorrow against FC Barcelona.
The coach has described his opponent as “one of the best teams in the world” and commented that it is not the best time to play against them because “these teams, when they lose, come into the game more focused because they don’t like to lose and they come with maximum concentration.” The Levante coach has described FC Barcelona as a team “with a lot of individual quality and, collectively, very aggressive, both offensively and defensively. They press very high and try to recover the ball as close to the opponent's goal as possible.” For this reason, Luís Castro assures that Levante UD must try to keep the ball as much as possible: “When they recover the ball, they play forward and have players who can cause damage in one-on-one situations. It is important for the team to be able to keep the ball and play in the spaces that FC Barcelona leaves, but it is also important to defend together to not give many advantages in one-on-one situations or free spaces.”
The Levante coach wanted to send a message to the fans. “I want to thank them for their support because we are not in an easy situation. The fans tell me that they are with us, that they believe and that they see the work we are doing, fighting in the matches and playing to win. The messages I receive are very good and give us strength to give a little more,” he said.
