The confrontation between Levante and Real Sociedad began with a well-deserved tribute to Ricardo Ten. The Paralympic athlete, who is associated with Levante U.D. through the programme "Di-Capacidad", made the ceremonial kickoff after winning the Silver medal in the Paralympic Cycling World Championship. The spectators at the Ciutat rewarded the effort and pride of the Valencian athlete. This was not the only tribute to take place just before matchday 5 of the LaLiga Santander. Pedro López received unanimous recognition from Levante supporters on the day of his 100th match as a granota in the First Division. The captain is the fourth footballer in the history of the club to achieve this, following the steps of Rubén García, David Navarro and Juanfran. After these tributes a minute of silence was held for the victims of the earthquake in Mexico.
