Levante UD to participate in the 'Llegendes Femenines de la Comunitat Valenciana' Triangular on Sunday

The 'Llegendes Femenines de la Comunitat Valenciana' Triangular will finally take place next Sunday, January 3, after being postponed last Sunday due to the tragic fire in Campanar.

Levante UD, represented by its former players from Levante UD Femenino, will participate this Sunday at Terç d’Alaquàs at 12:00, alongside veterans from Valencia CF and Villarreal CF. The tournament will definitively be held on March 3 and not last Sunday, as originally planned. The organization decided to postpone it in solidarity with the victims and those affected by the tragic fire in the Campanar neighborhood in Valencia. Before the matches, a respectful minute of silence will be observed as a tribute and remembrance for the deceased, the affected, as well as the heroes who worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire and attend to the victims.

At 10:00 in the morning, before the Legends' match, a Base Women's Football Triangular will be played, featuring the schools of Levante UD, VCF Femenino, and Villarreal CF. The morning will conclude with a fellowship meal among the participants.

Many familiar faces from Levante UD in the matches

The triangular will feature many familiar faces of former players who have been part of Levante UD Femenino. Under the guidance of coach Mariví Simó and the presence of Puri Naya, Director of Communication and External Relations, and Amparo Tomás, delegate of the first team, players like Sonia Prim, Lorena Landete, Coralia Antón, Carmen Nebot, Cristina Muñoz, Ainhoa Gil, Irene Polo, Marina Nohález, Naraira Ves, Nuria Santiago, Paula Grau, Amparo Ferrer, and Almudena Sánchez will participate.

This will be one of the first initiatives in which the club from Orriols will be involved to reactivate a group of female football figures that have paved the way for our women's section and players over the past 25 years.

Presentation of the triangular

The Castell d’Alaquàs hosted the presentation of the triangular, attended by the former captain and current Levante UD councilor Ruth García. "The realization of this first triangular is a very beautiful and important initiative because it recognizes the work of all the players who have done so much for women's football. We can reunite with old teammates. Hopefully, it will be the beginning of a reunion and that it will be held every year," she expressed.

The event is supported by our sponsor Caixa Popular. In their representation, Pilar Molina has shown their "unconditional support for initiatives of this kind. We are extremely proud because it gives visibility to women's sports. It highlights their effort and, more importantly, their professional trajectory. We will always be there."
