Atlético Levante UD returned to Buñol with the goal of extending their positive streak of results from recent matches. And they did so in the best possible way. A brace from Javi Alonso and goals from De Asís and Luismi Pérez allowed the granota reserve team to secure another victory and keep the three points at home.

The team led by Álvaro del Moral showed from the very beginning their intent to take the initiative. Barely five minutes had passed when Aitor M. began to create danger down the left flank. The granota reserve team’s number '3' delivered a cross that the opposing goalkeeper managed to palm away. The rebound fell to Calatrava, who didn’t hesitate to take a shot, though his attempt went wide. The second attempt came through a great pass between the lines from Nakoha to Luismi Pérez, but the winger’s shot missed the target.

They say the third time’s the charm. And so it was. The duo that broke the deadlock against CD Utiel shone again against SC Torrevieja CF to open the scoring: Aitor M. advanced to the byline to deliver a pinpoint cross to the far post, where Javi Alonso arrived to slot the ball into the net. The Madrid attacker would find the net again a few minutes later, albeit with some suspense. After a foul on Luismi Pérez inside the box, the referee pointed to the penalty spot. However, it was the granota number '17' who took the penalty. The opposing goalkeeper guessed his intentions and managed to stop the shot, but couldn’t hold onto the ball, which eventually crossed the goal line to make it 2-0.

Just before halftime, SC Torrevieja CF had a clear chance to narrow the gap. With A. Herrera out of his goal, a visiting player managed to get past him and, with the net practically empty, took a shot. But Nakoha appeared to head the ball away and prevent the visitors from scoring in a great defensive action, once again showcasing his strength and defensive solidity.

However, at the restart, the Alicante team reduced the deficit on the scoreboard. Far from being discouraged, Atlético Levante UD reacted with determination, also boosted by the energy brought by the players who came onto the pitch. Álvaro and Dani Cervera added new dynamism to the granota game, with good ball movement and greater attacking presence. The latter had a chance just moments after stepping onto the field, in the 57th minute, with a shot that went wide. Shortly after, he was involved in another offensive play, passing the ball to De Asís, whose shot was comfortably saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

The Argentine forward wouldn’t be left without his goal, and in the 66th minute, he scored to make it 3-1, providing greater calm for the granota team. The home team’s lead would increase further thanks to Luismi Pérez, who entered the box and was brought down by the opposing goalkeeper. The referee awarded a penalty and sent off the goalkeeper, who had already received a yellow card earlier. Luismi himself took the penalty and didn’t miss.

The victory also brought a very special joy: the return of Borja Cortina. The defender returned to the pitch 394 days after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament tear in September 2025. After overcoming a long recovery process, he was able to enjoy minutes with the granota reserve team again, capping off a perfect morning in Buñol.

Atlético Levante UD’s next match will be on Tuesday, October 20, when they host Crevillente Deportivo at 7:00 PM.
