Levante UD concluded their second preseason match against Sheffield United with positive feelings that, however, could not be reflected in the final score.
The English team showed great efficiency by converting their first two chances into goals. Seriki opened the scoring by finishing a cross from the left, while the second goal came after a free kick taken by Peck from just outside the box. Dani Martín deflected the shot, but McCallum took advantage of the rebound inside the area to send the ball into the back of the net. Despite these two early blows, Levante UD responded and began to dominate possession. From there, the Levante players created several offensive actions in search of a goal. They tried through crosses, corner kicks, and long-range shots, but without finding success.
After the break, the Levante team took control of the match from the start of the second half. Carlos Álvarez had the first clear chance with a shot that the defense deflected for a corner. Shortly after, the Sevillian combined with Paco Cortés in another dangerous play that forced the opposing goalkeeper to intervene and block the ball.
Levante UD dominated, created chances, and got closer and closer to scoring, but the goal continued to elude them. Roger Brugué tried in various ways, and Carlos Espí sought to impose his aerial game with several headers that were met with saves by the goalkeeper. Calatrava also tried his luck with a powerful shot from the edge of the box that the goalkeeper deflected. Finally, in the final stages of the match, Roger Brugué was rewarded, finishing Levante's persistence with a header to make it 2-1.
