Carlos Álvarez: "We face the derby with great enthusiasm, a lot of desire, personality, and character"
The footballer highlights the special atmosphere experienced in the city.
Carlos Álvarez has spoken to the club's media about his physical condition, how he sees the team ahead of Friday's match against Valencia CF, and how he perceives the derby atmosphere in the capital of Túria.
The player has acknowledged feeling "at one hundred percent" after the ankle sprain he suffered just a month ago and, after the competition break due to international commitments, he sees the squad with ambition. "The team has come back with a strong desire to return to the path of victory, to compete again in every match and to be closer to earning as many points as possible. We want to start doing that this week," he stated.
The sentiment among Levante fans is that the team deserves to have more points on the board. This is something Carlos Álvarez agrees with, and for that reason, he looks forward with optimism. "We have underperformed in terms of points, but we need to continue with the same work dynamic, keep competing, and I am sure that those missing points will eventually turn into extra points," he commented.
What the team does not compromise on is its fighting spirit until the very last second: "It is something the coach instilled in us when he arrived and it is very important because many times those points that seem out of reach can be won in those final minutes, as we already demonstrated last year."
Regarding the upcoming match against Valencia CF, the player from Seville knows it is not just another game and admits that the players approach it "with great excitement, with a lot of desire, and, above all, we want to do it with a lot of personality and character." For Carlos Álvarez, it will be his first city derby, and he assures that a special atmosphere can be felt in the streets of Valencia. "When I went out for a walk and met someone, people stop us and tell us that we have to win. That serves as great motivation for us. We are going to take everyone's motivation and we want to do our best. Hopefully, we can get the victory," he assured.
