Levante UD believes
Levante UD 2-0 Sevilla FC
Levante UD did it again. The Levante team secured their second consecutive victory to keep believing in their goal. They achieved it with the support of their fans, the "granota" supporters, who gathered at the Ciutat de València stadium to cheer on their players and push them towards victory. Iván Romero, with a brace, was the scorer of the two home goals.
The match started with good news for Levante's interests after, just two minutes in, the referee awarded a penalty following a foul committed on Iván Romero inside the box. However, after a VAR review, the referee went to the screen to review the play and canceled the penalty. Both teams had a lot at stake and struggled to take control of the game. Time passed, and the effort was immense, but chances were scarce. During the last ten minutes of the first half, the "granota" team began to approach the opponent's area with greater danger until the goal came in the 39th minute. Pablo Martínez took a free kick, Olasagasti provided the pass to Iván Romero, and he finished perfectly to make it 1-0 on the scoreboard.
After the break, Sevilla FC tried to react and was more present in the opposing area. As the minutes went by, Luís Castro's men regained their good form and sought the Sevilla goal to try to score a second goal that would give them more peace of mind. Carlos Espí had a chance when he was left alone in front of the goalkeeper, but the defense stepped in to block his shot. Shortly after, Carlos Álvarez set it up for the player from Tavernes de la Valldigna, but his shot was blocked by Odysseas.
Levante UD had to wait until injury time to extend their lead and seal the match with a solo effort from Arriaga, who, after a great run, set it up for Iván Romero to send it into the back of the net.
With the 2-0 shining on the scoreboard, the match came to an end, and the Valencians secured three very important points to keep believing.
