Dela: "It is a pride to reach one hundred matches in such a great and historic club as Levante UD"
The player reached the figure in the match against Sevilla FC
Dela played one of the most special matches of his career yesterday as he reached one hundred official games with Levante UD. The player reflects on his journey during this century of matches and talks about the important victory achieved against Sevilla FC.
The defender highlights the team's good collective work to achieve a victory against the Sevilla side and to keep believing. “We knew the importance of the match, it was a direct rival. We also had in mind the goal average, which could be important. The team responded. In the first half, we played a very serious game with our football, and in the second half, there were ten or fifteen minutes where we had to roll up our sleeves and show that the team knows how to play football very well, but also knows how to compete very well,” he stated.
The player wanted to acknowledge the role of the fans in this victory: “The first ten or fifteen minutes of the second half, when the team was struggling a lot because Sevilla FC started the second half well, from the inside, the energy in the Ciutat was very different from what it was years ago. It’s something to be proud of, our entire fanbase, how they pushed us, how they cheered us on… The team is grateful for it.”
Regarding being part of the centenary club of Levante players, Dela admits that “it’s an honor.” “One hundred matches are not played every day; it’s a difficult number to achieve, it’s beautiful, and even more so in such a great and historic club as Levante UD. I am grateful and very excited to be able to do it at home, with the fans and with my family,” he said. Of these one hundred matches, the center-back assures that the most special “was the one in Burgos because it was the match every Levante fan dreamed of. Everything that had to happen happened, even in a match that became very difficult for us from the beginning.”
