Iván Romero has reviewed the team's current situation during an unusual week for Levante UD after last Wednesday's match against Athletic Club had to be suspended.
The forward acknowledges that the squad is facing these days “eager for the next match to arrive,” which will take place this Sunday at 6:30 PM against Villarreal CF. The last match for the granota team at the Ciutat de València was last weekend against FC Barcelona. “We left with a bad taste in our mouths because we lost the match, but leaving with the fans applauding us and saying they were proud of all of us, of all the effort we made, fills you as a player, as a team, and hopefully we can return that affection again, both this Sunday and in the next match here at home,” says Iván Romero.
Precisely, against the azulgrana team, the attacker opened his scoring account this season. A goal that allowed him to get on the scoreboard and that he hopes will be the first of many. “I’m very happy about the goal. Hopefully, there will be many more. The first one is always the hardest, and I’m sure many more will come now,” he states.
Regarding the next opponent, Villarreal CF, the Levante player describes them as “one of the best teams in LALIGA.” “Even though they are lower in the standings, it doesn’t mean they don’t have the great team they do. They will want to take the three points, and we are also going all out. We are preparing for the match these days, and we are sure we will play a great game to bring home the three points,” he admits.
