Levante UD makes the floral offering to the Virgin of the Forsaken
The visit to the Mare de Déu is carried out as a prelude to the start of the competition.
Levante UD and Levante UD Femenino visited the Basilica of Our Lady of the Forsaken this afternoon to present a floral offering to the patroness of Valencia. An event that the Levante club holds every year as a prelude to the start of the competition.
Players from Levante UD, members of the coaching staff and staff of both teams, and a representation of the Board of Directors, led by president Pablo Sánchez, participated in this event, which was presided over by the chaplains of Levante UD, José Luis Sánchez and José Gerónimo Tébar.
The president of Levante UD, Pablo Sánchez, wanted to thank the Mare de Déu for "our current situation," after achieving promotion to LALIGA EA SPORTS, and has asked for her protection for the current season and the challenges they will face in this new stage.
For her part, Alharilla Casado, captain of Levante UD Femenino, has asked the Virgin of the Forsaken “for everyone, but especially for us, so that we can be an example in sports for the boys and girls who follow us.”
José Morales, captain of Levante UD, has referred to their families and asked the Mare de Déu to take care of them because “they take care of us.” Additionally, he also mentioned the little ones: “For those children who look at us with hope. May our game inspire them to do good and grow into better people.”
During the event, the captains Pablo Martínez, José Morales, Alharilla Casado, and Érika González, representing both teams, made the floral offering by placing a flower arrangement on the altar.
Subsequently, to conclude the event, the two teams posed together for the customary family photo at the feet of the patroness of Valencia.
