The player begins a new chapter as a "granota".
Hugo Sotelo has become a new player for Levante UD after the Levante club and RC Celta de Vigo agreed on his loan until the end of the season.
The footballer, in his first hours in Valencia, expressed his excitement about starting this new chapter. “It’s a big step in my career. I’m really eager to get started, meet my teammates, the coach, and the fans,” he said. The midfielder spoke with coach Luís Castro before joining the club and admitted that during that conversation, “the idea convinced me a lot, what he tries to propose on the field, and honestly, it gave me the confidence to take this step.”
The Galician player faced Levante UD during the past season and appreciates the second half of the season that the team had. During that part of the championship, they also came back from an adverse result in Vigo to secure a very important victory: “It was a completely new team. They approached the games with a different idea, with a lot of determination.”
Before joining the Levante club, Hugo Sotelo received references about the team through Manu Sánchez. The Madrid native, who played for the Valencian team last season, told him that “it’s a very family-oriented club with very approachable people. Many teammates are young, and they treat you well from day one.”
For the midfielder, this stage at Levante UD will be the first time he lives away from his hometown. A new chapter in his professional career that he faces “with great enthusiasm.” Sotelo also expressed his eagerness to play at Ciutat de València as a home player because “I really like the stadium; I think it’s very beautiful. You can feel the fans when you come here to play.”
