Levante UD adds José Manuel Álvarez to its structure as the new head of the club's medical services, following the departure of Joel Gambín due to relocation.
A graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Seville, the doctor returns to the Levante entity, where he performed his duties during the 2017/2018 season as the doctor for the women's first team and futsal. Additionally, he holds a Master's degree in Assessment of Bodily Injury and Locomotor System from the European University of Madrid and is a specialist in Physical Education and Sports Medicine from the University of Cádiz.
In the football field, he served as the head of medical services for the Real Betis Balompié academy between 2011 and 2014. In the 2017/2018 season, he joined Levante UD Women's and Futsal teams as a doctor. A year later, he returned to Real Betis Balompié to take on the role of head of medical services for the men's first team, a position he has held until now.
In the men's first team, the medical services structure will be completed with Dr. Adolfo López, nurse David Caballero, Guillem Gil as physiotherapy coordinator, physiotherapists Martin Badano, Javier Martínez, Javier Torres, and Alberto Espinola, rehabilitation specialists Luis Miguel González and Peter Marcos, nutritionist Javier Ríos, and podiatrist Jairo Casal.
