The players are evaluated before starting work on the field.
Levante UD has started the preseason with the usual medical tests that players undergo before the start of training sessions.
The players, in turns, have been attending the Ribera IMSKE Hospital since early in the morning to undergo the necessary medical check-up that marks the beginning of the preparation period for the start of the league competition.
José Manuel Álvarez, head of the medical services at Levante UD, explains what these tests consist of: “We assess their baseline condition. We go through a series of stages where we first conduct an anamnesis, asking them how they feel, how their vacation went… We perform an ultrasound evaluation of any previous injuries they’ve had to record and review them, and then we assess, at the physiotherapy level, their mobility and muscle elasticity. Strength levels, functional tests, where we connect at a neurocognitive level, nutrition assessment to understand their condition, and we conduct a podiatry evaluation with a biomechanical study. Finally, we perform cardiology tests.”
The doctor expressed satisfaction with the players' results. “They are in good shape. They have summer homework; a small plan is made for them along with monitoring in terms of nutrition and physical preparation. They behave well, they are professionals,” he commented.
This afternoon and tomorrow morning, the members of the Levante squad will continue visiting the Ribera IMSKE Hospital to undergo this medical protocol before reporting to coach Luís Castro on Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the Ciudad Deportiva.
