President Pablo Sánchez has appeared alongside the Head of International Training, Daniel Pastor, at the Ciutat de València.
Levante UD has officially presented today the first edition of the Levante UD International Cup. This tournament, which has already started its first matches today, will be held until next Sunday, June 21, at the Ciudad Deportiva and the Beltrán Báguena field of CD Buñol, bringing together more than 70 national and international teams.
The event featured speeches by the club president, Pablo Sánchez, and the director of the International Training Area, Daniel Pastor, who outlined the operational details and strategic value of an event that makes the granota club the epicenter of youth football this weekend.
The reflection of the club's values and work
The president of Levante UD, Pablo Sánchez, expressed his enthusiasm for the start of the competition and highlighted the enormous logistical complexity behind the event. "This International Cup is born with a very clear purpose. At Levante UD, we are firmly committed to grassroots football, youth academies, and formative football in all its expressions. We want the club to be, above all, a space for play, coexistence, and values for young athletes. This tournament is a reflection of who we are and what we want to project to the world."
Additionally, the top executive publicly thanked the collaboration of Club Deportivo Buñol and its city council for hosting part of the matches, as well as the work led by Daniel Pastor and Miguel Miró (Head of Business Development) along with the various departments of the club.
Ten years of international expansion
For his part, Daniel Pastor highlighted the historical journey that led to the creation of this tournament, stating that it is the culmination of a decade of global expansion of the Levante methodology through camps and strategic agreements across multiple continents.
"We are not just presenting a tournament. We are presenting the result of a ten-year journey of international work, during which Levante Unión Deportiva has been building its presence in different countries and establishing relationships with clubs, academies, players, coaches, and families."
Four days of competition, inclusion, and entertainment
The tournament has included teams from the benjamín, alevín, infantil, cadete, juvenil, female, and Genuine categories, combining 7-a-side and 11-a-side football formats. The organization has arranged a system of group stages and parallel final phases to ensure that all participants play the maximum number of matches possible, which will be officiated by referees appointed by the Technical Committee of the Football Federation of the Valencian Community.
One of the most anticipated moments will take place tomorrow, Friday afternoon, with the official opening ceremony at the Ciutat de València Stadium, where more than a thousand young footballers will gather. On Saturday, a Fan Zone will be set up with recreational activities, food trucks, and inflatables, while the finals and the trophy ceremony will take place on Sunday around 1:00 PM at the Levante UD Sports City in Buñol.
Children under 16 will have free entry, while the rest of the public can purchase daily passes or four-day passes (with special promotions for the purchase of three or more wristbands). All information regarding schedules, fields, and standings has been centralized in the tournament's official mobile app so that family members and fans can follow the competition in real time.
