Levante UD Femenino earned a draw in the third preseason friendly.
María Gabaldón analyzed the draw against Elche CFF and highlighted the importance of continuing to correct mistakes during the preseason to arrive in the best condition at the start of the competition.
The granota team drew 2-2 against Elche CFF in what was their third preseason friendly. María Gabaldón emphasized the learning experience these types of matches provide and explained that they allow the team to "gain rhythm and put into practice the work done over these weeks." Despite not being satisfied with the result, the player stressed the need to use the match to "correct mistakes," analyze areas for improvement, and "continue identifying the strengths" they want to showcase in the competition.
Gabaldón acknowledged that the team struggled to stick to the game plan after halftime: "In the second half, it was hard for us to find the free player, move forward a bit more, and play in the opponent's half." The newly appointed captain also admitted that their own mistakes ended up penalizing Levante UD on the scoreboard, insisting that these situations should serve as opportunities to grow during preparation. "Let this help us avoid those situations and ensure that opponents don't create as much danger," expressed the granota defender.
In this regard, Gabaldón reminded that the team still has room for improvement before the first round of the Copa de la Reina, also against Elche CFF. "There are still two weeks of preseason left. Now it's time to analyze what we can correct and improve it for the next match," she reiterated. That next challenge will be the Villa Alhama Trophy, which will be played away on Saturday, August 29, at 7:00 PM, against Alhama CF.
