Following the decision made by the Competition Judge today declaring the illegal line up of the FC Barcelona footballer Juan Brandáriz 'Chumi', in the round of 16 first leg of the King’s Cup match Levante UD-Barcelona, the club wishes to declare their satisfaction at having achieved this favourable result which acknowledges Levante UD was right all along, although unfortunately the ruling was not achieved within the time period and in the way they would have liked

The club’s legal team is studying the possibility of appealing as this determination does not carry any disciplinary consequences. We remind readers that the appeal made by Levante at the time was dismissed by the Competition Committee and by the Spanish Football Association’s Appeals Committee but the Court of Arbitration for Sport ordered the Competition Committee to reopen the case.
