Óscar Duarte signs for Levante UD

Levante UD has reached an agreement with footballer Óscar Duarte to join the club until June 2021, with the option for an extra season.

The defender, born 3rd June 1989 in Nicaragua, who plays for the Costa Rica National Team, joins Levante UD after finalising his time with RCD Espanyol. Óscar Duarte trained in the youth teams at Deportivo Saprissa, and played for Puntarenas on loan in the 2010/2011 season. He then returned to Deportivo Saprissa and in the winter transfer window of the 2012/2013 season he signed for Bruges. In January 2016 he joined RCD Espanyol until 30th June this year when his contract finished.

He has played for the Costa Rica National Team in two American Cups (2011 and 2016), two Central America Cups (2011 and 2014), two World Cups (2014 and 2018) and two Gold Cups (2011 and 2019).

Óscar Duarte will be presented as a new Levante UD player tomorrow, Friday, at 1pm in the Press Room at the Stadium.
