Dani Requena experienced a very special day yesterday as he made his debut as a starter in LALIGA EA SPORTS. The midfielder did so at the Ciutat de València, supported by the granota fans and with his family present in the stands.

The midfielder is happy to have had this opportunity and did not want to forget those who have always been by his side. “The feeling was unique. I had rarely experienced this, and I am very happy to be able to live these moments. There is a lot of work behind it. Since I was a child, I have been dreaming of this, and I dedicate it to my family who were at the stadium and to all my friends and relatives who have always supported me,” he said.

The player also acknowledges feeling proud of the team's effort against the leader, FC Barcelona. “We knew it was a tough match, and it hurts not to get points because we came back to 2-3 after being down 0-3, but we are very happy with the work we did,” he explained. Dani Requena also highlights the support of the fans during the most difficult moments and the connection between the stands and the team: “Whenever we play at home, I feel like we have an extra player because they cheer us on from the warm-up. Yesterday, I take away the moment when they scored the fourth goal, and they saw how hard we were working and applauded us, and the final ovation.”

The player from Granada admits feeling very comfortable in his time as a granota because “my teammates welcomed me from the very first moment. I already knew quite a few from the locker room, and it’s a joy to have a locker room like this. The unity we have inside allows us to play matches like this.” Additionally, his arrival at Levante UD has allowed him to reconnect with Paco Cortés, who has helped him adapt to the team and the city. “I am very happy to be with him,” he said.

The Levante team will return to the Ciutat de València on Wednesday to face Athletic Club in a new league match. A game that the midfielder approaches with the excitement of reconnecting with the granota fans: “We are looking forward to being with our people again, showing them that we are ready for a new match and that we will give everything for them.” Looking ahead to this new challenge, Requena fully trusts in his team’s work because “we are proving that we can compete against any team.”
