PRESS CONFERENCE | Julián Calero: "I have conveyed calmness and confidence to the team because, with what I see, I have it."
The coach has appeared before the media in the press conference prior to the match against Real Betis Balompié
Coach Julián Calero appeared this afternoon before the media in the press conference prior to the match that Levante UD will play tomorrow against Real Betis Balompié at the Ciutat de València Stadium.
The Levante coach commented on his rival, saying, “it is a team built to compete for Europe and that competes in Europe. With that, we already set the level they have. They have a very competitive squad. It is a team that dominates matches, that tries to maintain possession, but also knows how to do other things very well. It is a team that runs well and handles many parameters.”
Julián Calero also spoke about the team's situation after failing to score points in the first few matches and expressed his confidence in his players. “What concerns me is starting to add points as soon as possible to break this general negativity and make everything transform. When that happens, the atmosphere will change, in general, around the team, but I have conveyed calmness and confidence to the team because, with what I see, I have it,” he stated.
Additionally, the coach highlighted the support the fans are showing the team: “We know we are going to live in the mud all season. If we get nervous in matchday 3, we start making mistakes. The most important thing is that our fans are being understanding. We all want to win, but they are being understanding of a situation we knew was going to be difficult. We had the lowest salary cap, and we knew the challenges we were going to face, but we have not been afraid, and we are going to face it with courage. This will not intimidate us. Our people are supporting us, understanding us, and we know we have to live with the vertigo and the feeling that we will be among those teams at the bottom.”
