The Fenollosa Room at the Ciutat de València stadium will be the venue this Friday at 7:00 PM for the presentation of the book "Wounds on the Skin," a work authored by former footballer and communicator Alberto Edjogo-Owono. The event will also feature the participation of journalist Rafa Gandía, who will join the author in this reflection on football, identity, and racism in our society.

"Wounds on the Skin" is not just a book of denunciation but a brave journey that explores how football acts as both a mirror and a transformer of social tensions. From the perspective of someone who was a professional footballer and is now a recognized voice in sports analysis, Edjogo-Owono offers a historical journey that spans from the pioneers of football in Spain to current figures like Lamine Yamal or Nico Williams, including key episodes involving players such as Wilfred, Eto’o, or Vinicius.

The author invites readers to reflect on how this sport shapes a country's identity and how the awareness of being "different" marks the experience of many young athletes from an early age. With a profound approach, the work analyzes why football remains a space of tension between belonging and exclusion, emphasizing that the lack of consequences for racist behavior in the professional sphere transcends the playing field and affects society as a whole.

As Edjogo-Owono himself points out, the goal is to delve beyond the surface: "I have never intended to focus on a specific stadium, but rather for the reader to gain perspective and reflect on this journey through racism, football, and identity." Through its pages, the book presents itself as an essential work in the current debate on diversity and inclusion, advocating for the role of new generations and promoting football as a force capable of transforming realities.

The event will take place this Friday in the Fenollosa Room, where attendees will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about this story of role models and second generations who, with courage, claim their place and identity in a country that, step by step, continues its process of change.

At the end of the presentation, the author will sign copies of the book for readers, who will be able to purchase it on-site. Admission is free through the Offices entrance of the Ciutat de València.
