The duel between Girona and Levante began with an emotional and heartfelt tribute to Chapecoense. The players of the two squads emerged from the tunnel and positioned themselves on the Montilivi pitch with a green shirt, which symbolises the colours of the team from Chapecó, with the shield of the Brazilian Club and a fixed printed inscription that said ‘Força Chape’ (Strength to Chape). The Catalan Coliseum maintained an unbroken minute of silence in commemoration of the Chapecoense tragedy that left 71 victims dead in one of the most devastating aviation accidents in living memory.
