The defender looks forward to the return of LALIGA with enthusiasm and highlights the work done during these two weeks of break.
Manu Sánchez counts the hours until the competition returns. After two weeks of break due to international commitments, Levante UD will return this Monday to the Ciutat de València Stadium to face Sevilla FC in a match that the granota player approaches with "great eagerness" to compete again and reconnect with the fans.
"The break has felt a bit long, and since we have one game less, you can tell there's a desire for football," acknowledges Manu Sánchez, who values the work done by the team during these two weeks. "They've pushed us hard. It has been good to improve the small details and to keep perfecting things," he explains.
With the imminent return of the league competition, the defender highlighted one of the hallmarks of the Levante team: their ability to compete until the last minute, regardless of the opponent. "We know we have to work very hard, that every match in the First Division is tough, and we always give our maximum, everything we have," he states. In this regard, Manu Sánchez recalls the recent matches against highly demanding teams like FC Barcelona and Villarreal CF. "They are very tough opponents, but even so, the team kept working until the end and never lost focus on the game. At times, we were in good situations. Villarreal CF is a team playing in the Champions League, and we managed to draw." For Manu Sánchez, this characteristic of Luís Castro's team will be fundamental to achieving their goals: "Effort is non-negotiable in this team, and by working like this, fighting as we do, I believe good results will come."
Now, Levante UD faces the return of the competition with the excitement of reconnecting with their fans. "We are very eager because we've gone many days without playing a match, and we're eager to return to the Ciutat because this season, almost all the games have been away." Ahead of them will be a Sevilla FC that "has started LALIGA very well," and the objective is clear. "We will try to give our best version to try to take the three points," he assures.
The support from the stands will once again play a fundamental role. Manu Sánchez believes that playing home matches provides "an extra boost" for the team and recalls the importance the fans had last season: "Last year, the Ciutat was key to staying up, and it will be this year too." "We always enjoy playing at home with our people, who, many times, in difficult moments, carry us forward," he says. The player especially appreciates the support of the fans even when the results don't go their way: "We are grateful that on days when we don't win, like against Barça, they value the effort we make because one thing that characterizes the team is that we don't give up on any ball, we always fight until the last second and against any opponent."
