Oriol Rey played his hundredth match with Levante UD last Sunday. The midfielder reflects on the moments experienced during these hundred matches, as well as the feelings he had upon joining the club and how he feels today.

The player acknowledges that reaching this milestone “is a great joy, both for me and my family, because it was a decision I made four years ago, and I am very happy.” Oriol assures that at Levante UD “I feel at home, and I show it every day with my teammates and the fans. I feel very loved, and I love them very much too.”   

The emotions experienced in these hundred matches have been very intense, making it difficult to choose just one game. However, the footballer is clear about some of the most special moments. “It’s very difficult because, in the end, it’s an achievement that aligns with the goal I had when I arrived here, which was to get promoted to the First Division. And even though I didn’t play that match, the one against Burgos or Eibar, where we were crowned champions, are memories that will last forever. Also, achieving last year’s goal of staying in the division was an immense joy,” he recalls.

Oriol Rey hasn’t forgotten how his arrival at the Orriols club in 2023 was: “It was a decision I made with my family that summer. It was a bit challenging because there were other options, but I felt something telling me I had to come here. I spoke with Brugui because I had crossed paths with him in Miranda. I felt this was the club where I had to be, where I wanted to go, and I think I made the perfect decision.” For all these reasons, the midfielder admits to feeling “very happy, and I hope I can stay here for many more years.”

Undoubtedly, Levante UD has left a deep impression on him, among other things, because “it’s like my family, both the teammates, the coaching staff, and the workers.” “Being away from home, they are the people I spend the most time with daily and with whom I interact the most. They’ve made me feel at home,” he says. Specifically, about that family that makes up the locker room, he highlights “the unity, the good people, and their hard work.” “We all fight for each other; we are very united. If one fails, the other is there to fix that mistake,” he adds.
