Levante UD will pay tribute this Saturday to the Delegation of Supporters' Clubs on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. The club has prepared a very special action before the initial whistle of the match against Real Betis: the official flag of the entity will be displayed on the pitch of the Estadi Ciutat de València.

The official flag of the entity will be carried onto the pitch by Salvador Liñana Revert (president of the Peña Calpe as flag bearer), Lucía Montesinos Blay (member of the Peña Dones Agustinet as substitute flag bearer), and Ramón Pascual Escolano Llorens (president of the Delegation of Supporters' Clubs). The three bearers will emerge from the corner of the Raconet 15 minutes before the start of the match to unfurl the historic banner before the fans.

A banner tied to granota history

The history of this insignia takes us back to the summer of 1969, during a period of profound transformation for the entity. On August 8, 1969, during the farewell ceremony of the historic Estadio de Vallejo, the Central Board of Supporters' Clubs presented the management with a flag funded by the granota groups themselves. The then-president Antonio Román officially received it, announcing that it would preside over the club's solemn events.

Barely a month later, on September 9, 1969, the banner was once again a protagonist during the inauguration of the new granota home in Orriols. Thus, the flag became forever linked to two of the most defining milestones in Levante's history: the final farewell to Vallejo and the birth of the current Levante stronghold.

From the Boardroom to the Orriols pitch

Almost six decades later, this historic piece of sentimental heritage—which usually resides in the club's Boardroom—will once again take to the pitch in the prelude to the match against the Betis team.

With this gesture, Levante UD wishes to publicly congratulate the Delegation of Supporters' Clubs on such a significant date.
