The prestigious Valencian brass quintet Spanish Brass will perform the Levante UD anthem live just before the initial whistle of the match taking place at the Ciutat de València this Saturday against Betis. For the club and all the granota fans, it is a true privilege to have the presence of one of the most prominent chamber music ensembles on the international scene, which also includes Juanjo Serna, a lifelong Levante supporter and season ticket holder. 

From the World Cup final in New York to the heart of Orriols

Spanish Brass will be at the Ciutat after having performed the National Anthem at the final of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ recently held in New York. Despite the grand scale of that global event, the emotional component for this Saturday in Orriols surpasses any previous sporting milestone. Juanjo Serna acknowledges that, although "performing the national anthem at the World Cup final was very exciting because of everything it represents, for him it is much more special to play at the Levante UD stadium."

The Valencian musician explains that it is difficult to put into words because it has been many years of supporting Levante as it is the team of his heart for his entire life, so he feels deeply moved by this opportunity—completely voluntary—in which they will perform the Levante UD anthem during the players' entrance onto the field. 

For their part, the ensemble has worked on an exclusive and character-filled arrangement to resonate powerfully in the stands of the granota temple. Another member of Spanish Brass, Carles Benetó, explains that they have prepared a version of the anthem after a very interesting process in which they listened to and sang it many times, incorporating certain nuances to make it sound very solemn and with a special grandeur. The quintet member also hopes that, just as it happened with the Spanish National Team, performing the Levante UD anthem will bring the team good luck at the start of the league season.

An international benchmark with a Valencian seal

Founded in 1989, Spanish Brass is one of the most established and respected quintets in the world. With performances in more than 60 countries, over 30 albums released, and a notable pedagogical role in the best academies on the planet, the group boasts a career filled with awards, such as the First Prize at the 6th International Competition "Ville de Narbonne" (France, 1996), the most prestigious brass quintet competition in the world; the National Music Award of Spain (2020) granted by the Ministry of Culture, as well as regional and institutional recognitions such as five Carles Santos Valencian Music Awards (2018-2022) and the Matilde Salvador Award from the Universitat Jaume I (2025). Also, the AIE Award for a Lifetime Dedicated to Music (2026) granted by the Society of Performing Artists of Spain.
