The Spanish Rugby Association has decided that Valencia will be the host city for edition 85 of the King’s Cup Final. The Association has made public the announcement prior to the semifinals this weekend (F.C. Barcelona-SilverStorm El Salvador and VRAC Quesos Entrepinares-UE Santboiana).
The Comunitat Valencia Association for Rugby was considered the most favourable candidate in the interests of Spanish rugby and will encourage the dissemination and promotion of rugby within Spain.
The Valencia project has the support of all the Valencian public institutions. The final will be held in Levante UD’s Ciutat de València stadium (with a seating capacity of 24,000 spectators).
From now on, the competition becomes an event of the whole city of Valencia and the entire Valencian Community, and will be open to the support and encouragement of all those institutions that want to join it.
Valencia and the Valencian Community reaffirm their intention to become a benchmark for the organisation of major sporting events, and that they consider sport to be an instrument for economic wealth.
The Final, scheduled for 29th April, is an event that may not only exceed sporting limits but also aims to become a mainstay venture, since one of the main objectives of the organisers will be to support the promotion and growth of rugby, a sport clearly expanding in the Valencian Community.
