Five historic goalkeeper jerseys of Levante in the VIP Box of the Ciutat.
Five historic jerseys are on display, evoking some of the most notable milestones achieved by Levante UD goalkeepers in the third millennium.
On the occasion of the match between Levante UD and RC Celta, and the duel between Levante Femenino and UD Tenerife, the VIP Box at the Ciutat de València stadium hosts a new exhibition linked to the club's recent past. The exhibition revolves around a key position in the history of Levante: the goalkeeper. Five historic jerseys are displayed, evoking some of the most notable milestones achieved by Levante UD goalkeepers in the third millennium.
The exhibition has become a regular feature during league matches at the Ciutat. The display offers the opportunity to relive the history of the club through pieces that represent the memory and emotion of different stages of the club.
Mora's jersey, the tribute to ONCE and the centenary
One of the most special pieces in the exhibition is Mora's jersey. The shirt commemorates the match between Levante and Rayo Vallecano during the 2009-2010 season. That season ended successfully with the Centenary promotion.
That jersey was part of a joint initiative between ONCE and Levante UD. The players' names were written in Braille on the back as a gesture of inclusion and visibility. On the back of the jersey, Mora's name can be seen written in this reading and writing system designed for blind people.
That victory against Rayo brought Levante closer to its fourth promotion to the First Division. Mora is one of the most decorated goalkeepers in Levante's history. His record includes two promotions to the top tier with the club. He left an indelible mark between the posts at the Ciutat.
Raúl Fernández, the Zamora of the return to the top tier
The exhibition also features the jersey of Raúl Fernández, the goalkeeper of the return to the top tier in the 2016-2017 season.
His performance was exceptional during that campaign. Levante had a memorable championship under the management of Muñiz. It was a stellar promotion. Raúl became an impenetrable wall, and his consistency earned him the Segunda División Zamora Trophy. He held the title of the least scored-upon goalkeeper in the category.
His reliability and commitment made him one of the key figures of the 2017 promotion. Raúl is part of Levante's recent memory.
OIER, STAR OF THE HISTORIC 5-4 AGAINST FC BARCELONA
The journey continues with the jersey of Oier Olazábal, a goalkeeper who joined Levante UD in the second half of the 2016-2017 season from Granada CF.
He was part of the squad that achieved promotion with Muñiz as coach and established himself in the top tier with the Levante badge in the following season as the competition progressed.
His figure is inextricably linked to one of the most legendary and thrilling matches in memory: the Levante–Barcelona (5-4) in the penultimate round of the 2017-2018 league. That evening at the Ciutat, the Blaugrana team lost their unbeaten status to a rampant Levante.
That match was etched into the memory of the fans and the history of the Ciutat.
AITOR FERNÁNDEZ, THE WALL OF THE COPA DEL REY
Another jersey on display belongs to Aitor Fernández, a goalkeeper who joined Levante in the summer of 2018.
During the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons, his presence around the goal was synonymous with security and feline reflexes.
Aitor was the goalkeeper of the legendary Copa del Rey semifinal against Athletic Club. We go back to March 2021. In memory remains a tie that kept all Levante fans on edge and marked a milestone in the modern history of the club.
His jersey represents the fighting spirit and ambition of that Levante team that came close to the Copa del Rey final.
KEYLOR NAVAS, THE LEGACY OF A LEGEND
The exhibition is completed with the jersey of Keylor Navas from the 2012-2013 season.
During that season, the Costa Rican goalkeeper played in the Copa del Rey and the European competition. The battle for the starting position with Munua was intense. The Uruguayan goalkeeper defended the Levante goal for most of the league campaign.
In several matches, Keylor opted for the second kit of the season, inspired by the historic Levante FC. This design moved away from the traditional white and black stripes to a model dominated by black with a horizontal white stripe across the chest.
Five jerseys, five goalkeepers, and one shared sentiment: the pride of defending Levante UD's goal.
