Jeremy Toljan made his debut on Saturday in LALIGA EA SPORTS with Levante UD in the best possible way. He did so by scoring a goal, which he recalled in a club media interview where he reflected on his feelings since his arrival.
“I feel very good. The teammates are incredible; you can tell it’s a very united group. Everyone is very kind, they joke a lot, and it was very easy to fit in,” the player commented about his integration into the locker room. The defender also highlighted the overall atmosphere within the club: “You can feel it’s a unit; everyone is together. You can sense it from the teammates, all the staff working here, and all the fans. Everyone is very kind, and all the people support the team.”
Toljan admitted that, at first, it was difficult for him to adapt to Valencia’s summer climate, but he saw it from a positive perspective. “I come from Germany, and we don’t see the sun as much as here, so I like it,” he noted.
The defender will never forget his first match with Levante UD and recalled how his debut goal as a granota against Deportivo Alavés unfolded: “I saw a long ball coming, and Brugui and Iván were fighting for it. Then I saw Brugui shoot at goal, and I thought I could go into the area. Fortunately, the goalkeeper’s rebound landed at my feet, and I scored.” The goal filled him with happiness, as he hadn’t scored since 2019. “I was very happy. I don’t score many goals, but I hope I can this season. It’s been a good start, so I hope to score many more,” he stated.
After the match, Toljan checked his phone and found numerous congratulatory messages. Among those he received, he highlighted those from some fans, his family and friends who watched the match from Germany. “I was very happy that everyone was happy for me. I hope I can keep it up,” he commented.
The defender will experience his first match at the Estadio Ciutat de València on Saturday, where he will feel firsthand the special atmosphere generated in the Levante coliseum. “Everyone has told me that the atmosphere is really very good. It’s also an important match against a very good team, so I expect a good atmosphere and hope we can win,” he concluded.
