The Levante women's youth academy continues to achieve success after being crowned champions of the MadCup in the U-16 and U-19 categories.

The cadet team secured their third title in the tournament —the second consecutive one— with Merçé Megías named the best player of the final, while the youth team lifted the cup in their debut in the competition.

The cadet team defends the title

On their way to the final, the cadet team faced strong youth academies: in the group stage, they defeated Madrid CFF 0-1, in the semifinals they won again by the narrowest margin against Atlético de Madrid, and in the grand final, they beat the Athletic Club's youth academy with an outstanding performance by Merçé Megías, who scored the first goal that will remain memorable after a great assist from Lidia García. A beautiful ending to a perfect tournament in which captain Andrea Navarro lifted the third title achieved by Levante UD in this category.

The coaching staff and players have thus defended their championship title with incredible stats: 26 goals scored and no goals conceded. Excellent work between the posts by Adriana Sánchez and Natalia Ramón, who managed to keep a clean sheet throughout the tournament.

The youth team lifts the trophy in their first participation

The youth team made a grand debut in this edition of the MadCup: bringing the title home in their first participation. After a 2-2 draw against CD Getafe Femenino, they achieved resounding victories of 4-0 against CFF Olympia and 0-4 against CF Pozuelo de Alarcón. Finally, they closed the group stage with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Madrid CFF, a team they would face again in the final.

Before the decisive match came the semifinals against CDE Fuenlabrada Atlantis. After a tight 1-1 draw, the penalty shootout secured Levante UD's spot in the grand final. In the title match, Madrid CFF took the lead on the scoreboard, but the "granota" team completed a spectacular comeback thanks to a hat-trick by Natalia Andrés, who was named the MVP of the final. After the jubilation sparked by the victory, captain Daniela García was in charge of lifting the trophy to the sky of Madrid.

The work methodology, the reason for this double success

Behind this double success lies the same work methodology and an identical way of playing, as the Levante school works daily to ensure that players learn and assimilate the same training model, regardless of the category in which they compete.

The person responsible for implementing this methodology has been Alfonso Herrando, who has also served as the coach of the cadet team, with the help of Vicente Mora, general coordinator of the women's school, as assistant coach, Fran Muñoz as physical trainer, and Edu Doménech as physiotherapist.

Meanwhile, Cristian González has been the coach of the youth team, with José Joaquín González, head of recruitment and rosters, as assistant coach, and Alejandro Escribano as physical trainer.
