Mathew Ryan, new goalkeeper of Levante UD
The goalkeeper is an international player with the Australia National Team
Levante UD and Mathew Ryan have reached an agreement for the Australian to become a "granota" player for the current season plus an optional one.
The goalkeeper (Sydney, April 8, 1992) was trained in the Youth Categories of Blacktown City and Central Coast Mariners, a team with which he debuted in the top Australian league during the 2010/2011 season. In 2013, he moved to Belgium to represent Club Brugge, and in 2015, he had his first experience in Spain with Valencia CF. Two years later, in January 2017, he returned to Belgium to play on loan for KRC Genk. At the end of the season, he joined Brighton & Hove Albion to play in the Premier League, and in January 2021, he went on loan to Arsenal.
Mathew Ryan had a new stint in LALIGA with Real Sociedad during the 2021/2022 season and later played in Denmark with FC Copenhagen and in the Netherlands with AZ Alkmaar. During the last campaign, he played for AS Roma and RC Lens, where he coincided with Koyalipou.
The new Levante goalkeeper is an international with the Australian National Team, with which he has served as captain and participated in the 2014 Brazil World Cup, the 2018 Russia World Cup, and the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Ryan will meet his new teammates tomorrow and will begin training under coach Julián Calero.
Welcome, Mathew!
