The captain of Levante UD Femenino B faces the league debut this Saturday against SE AEM with excitement.
Levante UD Femenino B is ready to compete again. Tania Sánchez has highlighted the team's progress during the preseason and the excitement of a young squad facing their league debut.
The start of the competition brings the reserve team back to a routine that the locker room had been anticipating. After several weeks of preparation, captain Tania Sánchez has conveyed the eagerness within the team to compete again and "to return to the routine of planning and match weeks." Additionally, she approaches the challenge with the certainty of being part of a team "with a lot of future and potential."
Compared to previous years, the Femenino B squad has a younger profile. However, for the captain, this does not diminish the team's capabilities: "People might think we are younger or that we will struggle, but I trust each one of them and I believe we can surprise in some ways." Along the same lines, Tania has also acknowledged that the younger players "are like sponges" because they quickly learn and internalize all the instructions and advice.
The preparation has also brought about progress in the mental aspect. The match against Barça B—the last friendly of the summer—marked a turning point for the group despite the result (2-0). The forward explained that this match allowed them to change their mindset: "It gave us an energy that, perhaps, we hadn't had during the preseason. And with that energy, we have to face the first match."
That debut will take place this Saturday at the Ciudad Deportiva de Buñol against SE AEM (5:00 PM), one of the teams that played in the Primera Federación last season. "It impacts you more (starting against that opponent) because it's a team that has been relegated but was in a higher category than us last year. But we are playing at home. Buñol must be our fortress, and we need to get as many points as possible here," she assured.
The first league match will also have a special component for the team: dedicating the victory to Natalia Miralles. "She is an important player for the team, so that injury, which we all know is common in women's football, has hurt a lot. What better stage than the first league match to dedicate the victory to her," she concluded.
