Elgezabal reaches 50 matches as a Levante player
The center-back scored his first goal with Levante UD on Thursday.
Unai Elgezabal reached the milestone of 50 matches wearing the Levante UD jersey yesterday afternoon. The center-back, who became the first signing for the 2024/2025 season, was a key player in the Levante project that achieved the long-awaited promotion to La Liga and this year debuted as captain.
Elgezabal arrived from Burgos CF and made his official competition debut as a Levante UD player on August 18, 2024, when the team played their first match of the season against Sporting de Gijón. In his first season with Levante, he played 41 matches -40 in La Liga and one in the Copa del Rey-, while this season he has participated in 9 matches (8 in La Liga and 1 in the Copa).
This summer, the defender signed his contract renewal with the club until June 2027 and, moreover, debuted in the role of captain, confirming his leadership on and off the field.
This milestone of 50 matches played with the Levante UD jersey comes in a very special week for Elgezabal, as last Thursday he scored his first goal for Levante in the first round of the Copa del Rey against Orihuela CF.
Here's to many more, Unai!
