José Manuel Bernabéu is the new president of the Levante UD Footballers Association.

The Levante UD Footballers Association has chosen José Manuel Bernabéu as the president of the entity, following the celebration of the Ordinary Assembly. Bernabéu thanked the previous board of directors for all the work done so far, especially the former president Miguel Pallardó.
Bernabéu, a former Levante UD player, stated that he will bring his experience and commitment to the Association, where he has been involved practically since its inception. Over the years, he has served as treasurer during part of the presidency of Vicente Latorre Bolea and during the terms of Sergio Martínez Ballesteros and Miguel Pallardó González. “His career has been characterized by a strong sense of responsibility, constant work, and meticulous effort,” according to a statement from the Levante UD Footballers Association.
During his time as a footballer, José Manuel Bernabéu wore the Levante UD jersey during the 1983-1987 seasons, participating in the promotions to Segunda B in the 1984-85 and 1986-87 campaigns. In total, he played 97 official matches and scored 21 goals.
Bernabéu creates his board of directors
After his appointment as president, Bernabéu has begun forming his board of directors, which for now will be composed of Sergio Martínez Ballesteros as vice president, Miguel Pallardó González as treasurer and Juan Barat Trejo as secretary. "The new board will continue working for the growth and consolidation of the Association, maintaining the professionalism and dedication that has always characterized it," according to the entity.
Among his first projects as head of the Association, Bernabéu has held a meeting with veteran players of Levante UD and has expressed his intention for these former players to integrate into the organization and be part of each and every one of its actions, as well as the matches, and he would even like some of them to be part of the new board of directors, which is currently in the process of being formed.
During the Assembly, the appointment of Serafín García Muñoz as honorary president was also approved, making him the second in the entire history of the Association to receive this recognition after Antonio Calpe Hernández. Currently, the Association has a single honorary member, Vicente Arastey Domingo “Pirri”, following the passing of Enrique Martín Peidro “Enriquito”.
